Info: The Big Issue Street Football Festival returns in 2012 for 11 days of non-stop soccer on a floating pitch at Darling Harbour. The free event includes competitions for junior players and corporate and government agency teams. It will also include the national championships of The Big Issue’s Community Street Soccer Program, bringing together homeless and marginalised men and women from across the country. Held during the April school holidays, the festival is the perfect opportunity for families and soccer fans to see some fast-paced soccer action in the heart of Darling Harbour. Last year’s inaugural event saw more than 600 participants take part in 148 matches, with this year’s festival set to have an even bigger line-up of participants and matches.
